Don_M_CP-#1

I met with two conversation partners, and introduced myself.  They are both from Kuwait, are just out of high school, and this is there first time to the U.S.  Their English is at the Foundation level.  So I had to slow my speech, and think of simpler ways to express myself.  They currently do not have personal computers, but they do watch T.V.  One watches action movies (e.g. Van Damm), while the other watches news.  Both understand very little.  I suggested several channels such as NOVA and Animal Planet for narratives with visuals to practice listening.  Also, I suggested renting DVD's because they can be paused/reversed to allow an English speaking roommate to explain.  While the one is more open to experiencing American culture, the other simply wants to past IELTS.  We decided to meet 7-8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
