The class observed on Thursday 11/07/12 was Foundation
Grammar
The agenda was pre-posted on the whiteboard. Teacher took attendance, and then she gave an
overview of the day's agenda.
Using the students’ names, the teacher set a brisk pace
which kept the class engaged. In fact, I
was surprised by the level of class participation. The teacher gave a brief review of the
mid-term, then started a question and answer (with example) period on each
mid-term topic. The teacher monitored
each pair activity collecting errors.
And, after the review of each pair activity, the teacher would point out
the incorrect responses she had heard.
This technique clarified and reinforced each discussion point. Good job!
After this mid-term review, the teacher reviewed the format
of the mid-term with example questions.
She ensured that all students clearly understood the test format and
what to study for the mid-term. It bears
repeating that I noted a high level of class participation. She definitely created an interactive
Learning Environment.
