Last week was lunch
with Soren again. I left for Tennessee
the following day, so he really wanted to hang out beforehand. We did our regular thing where we go to Mom
and Pop’s, sit by the fountain, and talk.
He told me that he was having a good day “until now.” I said, “Gees
Soren, so you were having a great day, and now that you’re with me it’s
bad…haha.” He immediately laughed and
tried to correct himself. It took him a
long time to try and explain what he meant, but we eventually came to the
conclusion that he was trying to say, “It’s been a good day so far.”
I found out that Soren’s family owns a Christmas tree farm, which makes
me a little jealous. That’s pretty
cool. His mom is a nurse, and his sister
is studying to be a nurse. He and I were
talking bout the ambulances here, and he said that the ones in Denmark are a
lot smaller and shaped like small buses or vans. I’m glad knowing that all of my conversation
partner meetings are beneficial learning experiences for both of us.
