I met up with Soren on Friday. He, my sister, and I went to the Indian
market to buy some henna. My sister and
I wanted to get some of our own. After
that, Soren and I sat at a picnic table and did homework for a while. He asked me a few grammar questions. Then we walked all around campus. I realized that he didn’t know where a lot of
buildings on campus were, ever though he’s been here for two months, so I gave
him a mini tour. He thought Dodd Hall
was pretty, so we went inside and saw that there was a history of FSU
display. After visiting a few more
buildings, I drove Soren home. He is
living with a host family and told me it takes him 40 minutes to walk home
everyday, which he does not enjoy. He’s
planning to go back to Denmark in December and wants to practice speaking
English as much as he can before he leaves.
He told me that he wants me to correct him anytime that he makes
mistakes, which shows that he really cares about learning.
Any way you can teach him how to pay for and use the buses for the city? That might be a practical lesson. I don't even know how to do that in this city.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think of that! I'm not very familiar with the city bus system either, but maybe I'll look into that for him. Thanks.
